This Privacy Policy explains how Oil Tracker (the “App”) and this website handle information. We designed the App to collect as little information as possible.
1. Who we are
The App and this website are operated by Bearing LLC (in formation), doing business as Bearing Analytics (“we,” “us,” or “our”). You can contact us at support@bearinganalyticsllc.com.
2. Information we collect
- No account required. You do not need to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location to use the App.
- Payments. Subscriptions are purchased through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes payments; we do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple may share limited, non-identifying transaction information with us (such as whether a subscription is active) so the App can unlock features.
- Diagnostics. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and basic performance data. This information does not identify you personally and is used only to fix problems and improve stability.
- On-device preferences. Settings such as your preferred views are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to us.
- Data requests. To display market information, the App requests data from our servers or third-party data providers. These requests may include standard technical information (such as IP address and app version) that is needed to deliver the content. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not build profiles from it.
- Communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, and we use it only to respond to you.
- Launch list. If you join the launch list on this website, we store the email address you enter and the date you signed up. We use launch-list emails only to announce Oil Tracker, and we remove them on request: email support@bearinganalyticsllc.com.
3. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to provide and maintain the App, verify subscription status, fix bugs, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.
4. No sale of data and no tracking
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. The App contains no third-party advertising. This website uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts.
5. Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App and website (for example, hosting and data delivery), and only as needed to provide those services. Those providers are required to protect the information consistent with this policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Diagnostic data provided through Apple is retained according to Apple’s policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you, and you may ask us to delete them at any time.
To request access to, or deletion of, any information we hold about you, email support@bearinganalyticsllc.com with the subject “Data deletion request.” We will respond within 30 days. Deleting the App removes preferences stored on your device. To manage your subscription or purchase history, use your Apple ID settings.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the limited information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep collection to a minimum.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because we collect so little, most requests can be handled by email. Contact us at support@bearinganalyticsllc.com.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the App or its release notes.
